The Calgary Council for Advanced Technology is presenting an enlightening evening mixer event featuring a presentation by Robin Winsor, President and CEO of Cybera, an Alberta organization known for its excellence in research and development in the field of cyberinfrastructure. The topic of commercialization is extremely relevant for anyone who has created a new product or process, but doesn’t know how to make their invention a profitable reality.
Mr. Winsor is a Calgary entrepreneur who knows what it takes to bring a concept from R&D, to prototypes and patents, and turn it into an award-winning company worth over $300 million. He founded Imaging Dynamics to commercialize his 1991 invention – the world’s first direct digital x-ray system. Windsor will share the lessons learned from this experience and his expertise in evaluating and directing technology start-ups.

TBA A premiere UFO and Paranormal Conference, the National Paranormal Convention, has finally arrived in western Canada. With a line-up of experts and researchers specializing in the paranormal and supernatural, the National Paranormal Convention is not to be missed, nor is it for the faint-of-heart, as truth really is stranger than fiction.
The NPC is the first annual convention of its kind in Calgary, and one of the few opportunities for local enthusiasts to come together and share their experiences with others of like mind.
The NPC will be holding a two part lecture series with guest speakers, Jim Moroney, founder of the Alberta UFO Study Group, Morgan Knudsen, an expert and public speaker from the Edmonton-based research group Entity Seekers, and Rob Seguin, co-founder of West Paranormal.
The National Paranormal Convention will be taking place the University of Calgary in the Murray Fraser Hall – Class 162. Tickets can be purchased for $29.99.
