Calgary Stampede Events
Each year, millions of visitors from around the world come to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to partake in the annual event, the Calgary Stampede and Exhibition. As Calgary's most popular tourist attraction, 'the greatest outdoor show on earth' features a real rodeo, a midway (amusement park), concerts, chuckwagon races and more. The city of Calgary is transformed for 10 days into town celebrating the cowboy culture. Visitors will enjoy the atmosphere and always friendly attitude of the locals.

This tournament-style rodeo focuses on six major events: Bareback, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling and Tie-Down Roping. Sunday features the culminating showdown of the top two competitors in each category.

Indian Village celebrates the history and culture of the First Nations people and is held during the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. Visitors can enjoy a traditional Pow Wow with a First Nations dance competition featuring dancers in full, colourful regalia. A drumming competition also takes place. Other activities at Indian Village includes cultural demonstrations, interpretive displays, 27 tipis, traditional crafts and jewelry for sale, and a bannock booth selling traditional treats made from dough. The village has been an integral part of the Calgary Stampede since 1912. Entrance is included in Stampede gate admission.

Some reserved seating is available, but parade-goers are encouraged to arrive early in order to catch the beautiful floats, bands, riders, celebrities and cultural entries. The Annual Calgary Charity Golf Classic benefits the Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta). This year’s tournament will be held on at the stunning, Country Hills Golf Club in Calgary. Building on momentum from past tournaments, the 2011 event is trending to be the biggest and best tournament to date.
With Apache signing on for their second year as the official event sponsor and Coun...try Hills Golf Course hosting the tournament, the 2011 tournament is set to impress. For just $800 per foursome or $250 per individual, golfers will receive 18 holes of golf, a tax receipt, power cart, first tee gift, dinner, and have the chance to win all kinds of great prizes.
The CPA (Alberta) mission is to assist persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation.
