The Leighton Art Centre is situated on 80 acres of spectacular landscape in the Alberta foothills, 15 minutes southwest of Calgary. The Moonstone Creation Gallery shows traditional Native art, jewellery and clothing from local artists. The Kingston Arts Council announces the Kingston Prize for 2011, a Canadian portrait competition. Canadian artists are invited to submit contemporary portraits of Canadians. The FN Gallery is an arm of the Calgary Aboriginal Arts Awareness Society (1988). It's focus is on exhibiting Aboriginal contemporary art forms that include both traditional, post-modern, new media as well as mixed media.
