Metal Art Showcase - Saturday July 3rd, Palomino Room - BMO Centre
Indulge in the artistic side of the Calgary Stampede and the talents of the blacksmith, and come to the Metal Art Showcase Saturday July 3rd in the Palomino Room of the BMO Centre. The event exhibits the alternative creative talents of the blacksmith, and represents a distinct component of the World Champion Blacksmith’s Competition. Artists and collectors from around the world delight in this showcase – as well as all Stampede guests when watching the crafting of these metal creations. Buyers can look forward to pieces for every taste and style and available at all price points.
The event begins with the Potluck forging event at 11:30 where all Stampede guests are invited to watch teams from the World Championship Blacksmith Competition create works of art in one hour using only scrap metal. Professional metal artists also submit spectacular pieces created prior to the competition. Both the Potluck and the professional works alike are sold in the evening auction. Cocktails and silent auction start at 6pm and the live auction at 7pm.
Do not miss this artistic cornerstone of the Calgary Stampede and come out for the Metal Art Showcase Saturday July 3rd.
