Calgary Nightclubs

Open Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm to 2am, Jimmy's Nightclub is located in The Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre. Live DJs and dancing are featured at this nightclub, which offers retro music on Fridays and Top 40 on Saturdays.

Located in Calgary's new fashion district, Habitat Living Sound is a microclub catering to the city's dance community. The team behind this club is Aqua Audio's Mikey Da Roza, Cary Chang of Feroshus, and John Liwag of the Cherry Lounge.

Twisted Element came roaring onto Calgary's gay scene with the momentum of a runaway locomotive and the party hasn't stopped. The club features a mixed bag of elements that come together to make a great and hugely popular nightspot. With a massive dance floor, friendly staff, pool tables, wireless internet connections, drink specials, drag shows and theme nights, the club is usually packed to the rafters.

Calgary is home to a couple of locations for the chain eatery villa Medina. This place serves Mediterranean style dining choices like falafel sandwiches, stuffed vine leaves and fattoush.

Attached to the popular Drum & Monkey pub, Bamboo Tiki Lounge features a Polynesian theme complete with giant wooden carvings. This cavernous club features five bars and gets packed each night it is open from Thursday through Sunday. Generally frequented by an under-25 crowd, The Roadhouse plays a range of music on it's state-of-the-art sound system ranging from Top 40 to hip-hop to country. On occasion, live bands will take the Roadhouse stage.

Club Sapien is a nightclub in downtown Calgary catering to the queer population of Calgary. They offer weekly events and specials and Sunday nights is there open mic night where local talent is showcased. They also serve pub-style food and can accommodate parties for special occasions.

One of the few nightclubs in Calgary that caters to local hipsters, the HiFi schedule includes Pink Lightning Wednesday with electro, dance and rock, Hai Karate Thursday with breaks, rock, funk and hip hop and Flashlight Fridays with funk, soul, disco and rare grooves. House music fans can check out Sunday Skool and anyone wanting to see live bands should head to the club on Saturday nights. HiFi also hosts CD release parties for local bands and brings in international DJs.
