Calgary Shopping Areas

Marda Loop encompasses three blocks of specialty shops, restaurants and services. Marda Loop is located on 33 Avenue SW, east of Crowchild Trail.

Located east of the Elbow River, just off Elbow Drive, Britannia Plaza is home to several different shops including those that feature books, women's fashion, collectilbles, a market and home accessories. Parking is available.

Coffee shops, cafes, a bakery, gifts stores, women's fashion and variety of additional shops and services are located within the Glenmore Landing shopping area. This complex is situated at the Glenmore Reservoir's south end.

Located in the Strathcona District, Strathcona Square boasts more than two dozen stores and services including a coffee shop, a grocery store, a bank, a toy store and more.

Willow Park Village is one of Calgary's premier shopping districts. Shops and services include a fabric store, western wear, lingerie, shoe stores, gift shops, restaurants and more. More than 60 shops and services are available.

International Avenue is a street lined with multi-cultural restaurants and specialty shops. Shop for Asian DVDs, purchase Indian sweets, buy bargain fruit and vegetables, and dine at an array of restaurants, from Middle Eastern to Asian and more.

Between 14th and 16th Avenues on 11 Street SW (north of 17th Avenue), shoppers will find stores to suit every need and desire, ranging from flower and home decor stores to men's and women's fashion.

17th Avenue, in the southwest quadrant of the city, hosts a great variety of specialty shops, restaurants, cafes, galleries, consignment stores, crafts and more. This shopping area extends from 14 Street to 2nd Street SW.

On 4th Street SW between 13th Avenue and the the Elbow River a range of shops can be found including boutiques, art galleries, collectibles and restaurants.

This is one of the most popular shopping areas in the city of Calgary for seeking out antiques, unique gift items, imports, house accessories and home furnishings. The oldest neighborhood in the city has plenty to offer.

Shawnessy Town Centre is an outdoor shopping complex with many outlet and specialty shops, services and restaurants. National retailers such as Michael's Craft Store, Pier 1 Imports, Staples, Zellers and Linens 'N' Things are located within the shopping area.

The Kensington shopping area features a collection of specialty stores such as wedding and formal wear, swimwear, lingerie, kitchen items, toys, art galleries, consignment clothing and gift items. This area is located across the Bow River from downtown.

Dozens of retail outlets such as Indigo, Michael's Arts and Crafts, Winners, Hallmark, Reitmans, Roots and others are contained within this shopping area. Several restaurants and entertainment venues are also located in the area.

Purported to be Canada's second largest Chinatown, this neighbourhood dates back to 1910. It is located between the Bow River and 4th Avenue SW in downtown Calgary. Pedestrian traffic is always steady here, with Sunday being the most lively. Visitors to this area will find unique and bargain gift shops, a couple of shopping centres, and grocery stores along with a plethora of bakeries and restaurants. Visually, the area is in contrast with downtown's new and sterile skyscrapers, and instead offers small two storey buildings with neon and handpainted signage, Peking ducks hanging in windows, trendy Asian youths drinking bubble tea, Chinese stylized street lamps and phone booths and much more. The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, one of Canada's largest cultural centres, is also located here. Its central dome designed after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing is worth seeing.

Crowfoot Crossing features more than 240 shops, restaurants and services. The many stores cater to varying needs and interests, from sporting goods to hot tubs, model trains and remote controlled toys to travel accessories, CDs and books to instruments and sheet music. The Cineplex Odeon movie theatre is also located here.

Art Central is a visual art complex with small boutiques, commercial art galleries, a restaurant and everything else in between. From fine jewelery to local art work, this is where you can find it.

8th Street in downtown Calgary features a vast collection of shops and malls. It is Calgary�s largest shopping area and encompasses Bankers Hall, TD Square, Scotia Centre, the Hudson Bay Company and all the shops along Stephen Avenue Walk.
