Calgary Learning Programs & Vacations
Heritage Park Historical Village offers a variety of learning programs for kindergarten to adult. The children’s education programs are designed for the school system but the adult educational programs are public. The Park also offers summer day-camp programs for ages seven to 14 that are fun and educational. Camps allow children to learn about Canadian history through hands-on engaging programming.
Chinook Rafting offers unique learning programs, including the River Guides Course and the Swiftwater Rescue Course. The river guiding course lasts seven intense days and includes topics like river reading, hydrology and rescue techniques. The Swiftwater Rescue Course is ideal for river guides or veterans wishing to update their skills.
Moose Mountain Adventures' "Earn Your Spurs" lesson program is designed for anyone who wants to learn the basics of riding, horsemanship and horse behaviour. In small groups up to six students, riders can gain skills over a series of lessons. Only a small amount of time is spent in the arena – most practice exercises are on the trail in the beautiful setting of the foothills. Students progress at their own pace through four levels and will be ready to enjoy trail riding in the mountains, a Pack Trip or the Season’s Pass membership.
