It is helpful to know the dates of Canadian public holidays, especially when making plans for hotel and transportation reservations. Many other non-statutory holidays are celebrated such as St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day (the last two greatly effecting restaurant availability).
